About Our County

Just off I-77 Exit 28, you’ll find an inviting place with so much more to offer than meets the eye. We are a quaint, little place along the Buckeye Trail. We have pride in our history and want to let that pride shine through every day. To reach that goal, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty.

Our residents have always been strong, hardworking Appalachians. Our ancestors worked in the coal mines. Today, we work our land while working ‘real’ jobs. Our children are involved in 4-H and FFA. In Belle Valley, we like to keep it simple.

We invite you to leave the hectic world out there, because the pace here is calm and slow. Please come and enjoy your time with us. Don’t be in a hurry and don’t be surprised to find a little dust here and there. We’re still working to bring the shine back.

Working toward this goal, you’ll find a small group of spirited women, with unique backgrounds, and a common goal. Every successful plan has a champion. In Belle Valley, we’re blessed with a team of champions working together to bring our shine back:

  • Chelsie Bartnicki - CS Goods
  • Kathy Burgos - JK Ranch and Supply
  • Julie Caldwell - Liberty Market
  • Julia Coyle-Wheeler - Begonia Manor

Things To Do

We welcome you to come and see what makes us, us ...
An outdoor oasis

Wolf Run State Park and Campground

Located in southeast Ohio’s Noble County, the area was rich in mineral resources. Wolf Run State Park offers more than 1,000 acres of scenic, peaceful woodlands and cool, clean waters for a quiet retreat. Nestled in the heart of Appalachia, the region’s second growth forest now provides high-quality outdoor recreation such as camping, hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, and winter recreation.

A great place to fish, kayak, boat, and swim

Wolf Run Lake

FISHING

Wolf Run State Park in Ohio offers a variety of fishing options for both experienced and novice anglers. The park’s main attraction is the 220-acre Wolf Run Lake, where you can fish from either the shore or a boat. Species that populate this lake include largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish and saugeye. Fishing boats are available to rent within the park if needed.

BOATING and KAYAKING

Boats with motors of up to 10 horsepower are permitted on Wolf Run Lake. A launching ramp and tie-ups are available on the south side of the lake, easily accessible from State Route 215.

SWIMMING

A public swimming beach is located on the south side of the lake and provides restrooms and changing booths. The beach is open during daylight hours only.

Scuba diving is also permitted in the lake, except within the beach area. Proper equipment and marking of the diving area are required. Diving alone is prohibited.
